WhatsApp in n8n with the WbizTool node

Add WhatsApp to your n8n workflows: message a new lead from a webhook, confirm an order or send an alert when a check fails. Use the WbizTool community node for ready-made fields, or the built-in HTTP Request node on any n8n instance.

How it works

  1. Install the community node

    In n8n, go to Settings → Community Nodes, click Install and enter n8n-nodes-wbiztool. Restart n8n if the nodes don't appear.

  2. Create the credential

    Add a WbizTool API credential with your Client ID, API key and the WhatsApp Client ID of the number to send from. Keep the Base URL at https://wbiztool.com/api/v1 (no trailing slash). n8n tests it when you save.

  3. Add WbizTool Send Message

    Choose Phone Number or Group, map the phone from an earlier node (for example {{ $json.phone }}), set the Country Code and write the message.

  4. Use the result

    The node outputs messageId. Keep it to check the status or cancel the message later, or branch on it with an IF node.

What you can do

  • Send text, images and files

    WbizTool Send Message sends a text, an image with text or a file with text to a phone number or a group. URLs must be public.

  • Groups and lists

    WbizTool Send Group Message posts to a group by name; WbizTool Send Multi Message sends one message to a comma-separated list of numbers.

  • Status and cancel

    WbizTool Message Status checks a message by its ID, and WbizTool Cancel Message cancels a scheduled one.

  • Manage your numbers

    List the WhatsApp numbers in your workspace, add a number, or check whether a number is connected (use the General Status method: Status by ID fails for now).

  • Know when it's sent

    Put an n8n Webhook node's URL in the Webhook URL option. WbizTool calls it with msg_id and status: SENT, FAILED, CANCELLED or EXPIRED.

  • Every endpoint with HTTP Request

    Change the URL and body to call any WbizTool API endpoint, such as schedule_msg or send_msg/multi.

Good to know

  • The Country Code field defaults to 91 (India). For numbers in other countries, set the right code, or 91 is added in front of the number.
  • The WbizTool Schedule Message node doesn't work yet: it sends dates as DD-MM-YYYY, but the API needs DD/MM/YYYY. Schedule with the HTTP Request node and https://wbiztool.com/api/v1/schedule_msg/ instead.
  • The multi and schedule endpoints answer HTTP 200 for most errors, as text/html: in the HTTP Request node set Response Format to JSON and check that status is 1.
  • WbizTool Message Status returns an item only for a Sent message; a queued, failed, cancelled or expired one stops the node with an error. Turn on Continue On Fail to branch on it.
  • The API works on the free trial (50 messages in any 30 days). Paid plans send unlimited messages under fair use, up to 1,000 a day per number. Group messages work on every plan too.
  • WbizTool sends from your own WhatsApp number, so WhatsApp's own rules apply: message people who expect to hear from you, such as your customers and leads.

Questions

What if my n8n setup doesn't allow community nodes?
Use the built-in HTTP Request node: method POST, URL https://wbiztool.com/api/v1/send_msg/, authentication None and a JSON body with client_id, api_key, whatsapp_client, phone and msg. It does the same job.
Which nodes does the package add?
Send Message, Send Group Message, Send Multi Message, Schedule Message, Cancel Message, Message Status, Check Credentials, List WhatsApp Clients, Create WhatsApp Client and WhatsApp Client Status.
The node succeeds but nothing arrives. Why?
A successful node means the message was queued. It waits until your WhatsApp number is connected, so check the number on WhatsApp settings in WbizTool.
My mapped text breaks the JSON body. What can I do?
Quotes or line breaks in a mapped value make the JSON invalid. Switch Body Content Type to Form Urlencoded and add each field as a parameter.
Can I send the same message to several numbers?
Yes. Use WbizTool Send Multi Message, or POST to https://wbiztool.com/api/v1/send_msg/multi/ with the recipients in phone as one comma-separated string.
