Auto-replies
Answer WhatsApp messages automatically: keyword answers, an away message outside your hours and a welcome message for new chats. An auto-reply goes out from the chat’s own number, usually 1–2 minutes after the message arrives.
What auto-replies never do
- Answer groups, or your own numbers.
- Answer old messages: only messages that just arrived, so turning a rule on never answers earlier chats.
- Interrupt your team: no auto-reply for 30 minutes after someone on your team wrote in that chat.
- Answer the same contact twice within 5 minutes, so two automatic systems can’t keep replying to each other.
- Send more than 30 an hour from one number.
- Arrive late: an auto-reply not sent within 30 minutes is dropped.
Each auto-reply counts as a message. Paid plans are unlimited; on the free plan, auto-replies stop when your messages run out.
